Asio Fraud Strategy Statement 2019-21 ( provides more information about our anti-fraud and management agreements. In fiscal year 2019-20, ASIO spent US$313,025 on marketing and advertising for recruitment activities and campaigns. These reports are available on the Ministry of Finance website (see also Appendix G). Last year, the focus was on maturing our workforce analysis capacity to enable strategic workforce management. The development of a Data Warehouse company has made it possible to provide automated employee reports in real time to support strategic decision-making regarding staff. It also allowed superiors to use self-service dashboard reports to support their day-to-day thinking. ASIO supports the participation of small businesses in the Australian procurement market. Statistics on the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small enterprises are available on the website of the Ministry of Finance.

The Ben Chifley Building continued to support the business and capacity requirements of ASIO and its partners. In 2019-20, our Corporate Suites, including Australia`s largest security auditorium, hosted a series of events ahead of the introduction of COVID-19 restrictions. The Commonwealth Disability Strategy has been replaced by the National Disability Strategy 2010-20, which sets out a ten-year national policy framework to improve the lives of people with disabilities, promote participation and create a more inclusive society. It ensures that the principles underlying the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities are included in Australian guidelines and programmes for persons with disabilities, their families and carers. ASIO makes available to other parliamentary committees, as appropriate. In 2019-2020, ASIO contributed to this, either directly or in consultation with the Ministry of the Interior: in March 2020, we mobilized our COVID 19 Crisis Management (CMT) team. CMT is managing our organizational attitude toward the pandemic to mitigate the potential impact on our employees and our day-to-day operations, and is coordinating our contribution to covid responses across government. During the reporting period, the Committee met five times (four quarterly meetings and one extraordinary meeting convened for the audit). Each assembly was in accordance with the quorum, with all members participating in two meetings and all but one of the other three participants.
