In 2015, Marvel and Sony unveiled an unprecedented studio partnership, which produced not only two prestigious and massive hits with Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home this summer, but also the character that Sony owns the film rights to, at the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where the hero became one of its main actors. “I`m thrilled that Spidey`s journey continues to the MCU, and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we can continue to work on it,” said Marvel topper Kevin Feige. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story spans all ages and viewers around the world. It`s unclear what Marvel and Sony intend to do once these two films are shot; Will the studios return to the negotiating table or will they find a way to break this partnership? The venom sequel is in full swing with Andy Serkis under the direction of Tom Hardy, and there`s Morbius with Jared Leto, Kraven The Hunter and another spin-off with the characters Silver Sable and Black Cat. And a Sinister Six movie that was put on the back burner. Sony, which once smelled of the watch spinning, would generate a Spider-Man movie every three years to prevent the rights from returning to Disney, now has plenty of footage to take. And the studio also won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, a hit they directed themselves. Spider-Man may be able to swing between skyscrapers, but his main strength might be to stay.
